What C.S. Lewis and I have in common is our love for reading good books and the wonderment it brings to our active imaginations. Through him I was introduced to two other great Christian writers, G.K. Chesterton and George MacDonald. But what C.S. Lewis does best where books are concerned is write them. He has written countless of books on Christian Apologetics, but his book "Surprised by Joy" differs from all of them. It chronicles a biographical journey of

Viktor Frankl, a Holocaust survivor and renowned psychotherapist, wrote a recollection of life at the Nazi concentration camps in Auschwitz in his book, Man's Search for Meaning. He observed that "A man who lets himself decline because he could not see any future goal found himself occupied with retrospective thoughts… They preferred to close their eyes and live in the past. Life for such people became meaningless."

Frankl also noticed that in an incredibly horrifying situation as the one he was in, spiritual life could deepen, which to him explains how prisoners of less robust natures survived the sordid conditions in the camp. It is through the examples of his fellow inmates, as well as his personal experiences that he made the realization that "the salvation of man is through love and in love."

This is the common view of a typical worship service. Initiated by men and God is just a guest… waiting an invitation?

Blueberry Cheesecake Blueberry Cheesecake was for a time, while still in college and after that, a favorite staple food for Veejay. We would often try and taste every blueberry cheesecake in coffee shops, bakeshops, restaurants, and other places we went to and made comparisons of their taste, goodness, texture, and presentation one from the other.

Blueberry CheesecakeIt was fun doing all these taste tests adventure with her. And because of her love for blueberry cheesecakes, she even learned the recipe and made her own (see photos). And the result? I'd say it leveled up with those that we have tasted, even better (that is according to our taste preference for blueberry cheesecakes) compared to some of those we have tasted so far. Here's an article from my wife's blog site:

Birthdays in DavaoMy daughter and 11 of her friends (if I'm not mistaken) in Davao City are March birthday celebrants. There was a time that I asked them to celebrate their birthdays together at home. There were 6 of them who came. I prepared some pasta dish, fried chichen , chicken macaroni salad, sandwiches and of course I baked 2 birthday cakes for them.

For the girls, the cake was a Marble Chiffon Delight, with whipped cream, butter and cocoa filling. It was frosted with Buttercream icing and boiled icing for piped decorations.
