As i went to the public market here in our place late tonight to buy some goods, it struck me back to the time when i was young. To the time when i haven't gone to school yet...that was probably 25+ years ago. Having been there late already, i watched at those vendors packing their commodities already, and ready to call it a day. Getting busy to rest for the night and prepare for the next day.
For many years living near a public market, never did i feel this way of a memory of a public market. I've been in and out on a public market for years but this memory have come back. When i was young, my grandparents had a stall in a public market. I was taken good care of my aunts and uncles, my parents and my grandparents at Medina then. I hung-out in that public market everyday when i was there. Watching people going in and out. Chatting to anybody. Vendors watching closely potential buyers. Fish vendors shooing those flies that hover around. Kargadors lifting heavy sacks. And of course, part of my hanging-out out there was being able to be a "cashier" on my grandparents store... Oops! And eating some of the bread in the store too, and those candies. :-) When night time came, around 7pm - 8pm... that's the time the stall is going to close. Going home at night with my grandparents, whether it is raining or the moon shining up above, it had been a pleasant life. As i was going home from the market tonight, i looked up and watched a beautiful moon lighting-up from up above. How i missed those childhood days in the market, and with my grandparents with me. I'd been blessed to have a childhood-life like this, growing-up with my grandparents. I miss you, lolo and lola. *tears*
