At Ardent Hot SpringsAround April of 2005, we organized a 5-day youth camp -- composed of about 70 teenagers -- in Camiguin Island, an island province just off north of the mainland of Mindanao. We were all camped at Ardent Hot Springs, one of the tourist destinations in this paradise-like island. It is at the foot of -- if I'm not mistaken -- Mt. Hibok-hibok, an active volcano thus the hot springs at Ardent. According to some, the whole island is a volcano itself. Anyway, the youths enjoyed the camp in this wonderful tourist destination.

On one occasion, my daughter -- an artist -- took notice of the wonderful scene that just appeared before her. She asked me for my Mercury digital camera and ran back to where she saw a beautiful scene developing before her eyes and took the shot. I'm glad she did. During that afternoon, the staff of the resort were cleaning up the grounds and burned the dry leaves. This gave the whole place a wonderful scene to look at -- although the smell of smoke was annoying.

One thing I learned in photography -- always be ready with your camera. You never know when a good opportunity to shoot a good picture suddenly comes so, just be ready. And just shoot and shoot! We don't have to worry anymore if we run out of films haha!

By the way, my daughter has an art website of her own at http://vjjoson.com where she shows her paintings, drawings, water color, blog, photography and other stuff. Check it out.
