After a year-and-a-half after my retirement, I was again asked last week to resume doing a web ministry work I used to do for some 8 years previously -- disseminating relevant information electronically to all our pastors and membership nationwide in the denomination I'm affiliated with.
And just yesterday, the first email I sent to all our pastors nationwide was a July letter from Dr. Joseph Tkach, president of Grace Communion International. It was about how sometimes, we cannot handle the truth that is introduced before us -- and we resist it.
It did not take long after I sent that letter and I received a response email expressing dismay at
how the denomination's leadership has been so blinded already. I was saddened by this letter especially so that it came from a beloved person.
This beloved person was not able to handle the truth. He had another lens with which he viewed and interpreted Scripture. How sad it is when people hang on and are blinded by error. When they are presented with the truth, they can't handle it. How sad.
It grieves me that people are destroyed for lack of knowledge (Hosea 4:6). But I believe that in his own good time, the Spirit will guide us into all truth (John 16:13). So, I will carry on and pass on the good news and let God open the minds of people to the truth so that they will accept it, and enjoy the good news not only in the future but even now in our lifetime.
